PT Cruiser

I am one of those guys who can't tell an Accura from an Infinity.  They all look alike to me.  Consequently, when I went car shopping, I wanted something that looked a little different than all those other cars on the road.  I was drawn to the  Chrysler PT Cruiser.  It doesn't look like any other car on the road and it has that retro look to it that old guys like me find appealing.  I ended up purchasing a 2003, white, base model  PT Cruiser.  I picked this car up in September of 2003 and as I put more miles on the thing, I am learning to love it more as the miles go by.  It is a nice handling car with many included features that one could only expect on a much higher priced car.  Touted as being highly underpowered, I find that to be grossly exaggerated for some one with my driving style.  This non-turbo charged machine has ample power to easily accelerate up to freeway speeds and climbs hills with only the occasional need to place its automatic transmission lever into a lower gear.  I am a happy PT Cruiser owner.  Another benefit is that at today's high fuel price, the PT Cruiser gets relatively good gas mileage.  Chrysler says to expect about 29 mpg for freeway driving.  I think this may be a bit of an exaggeration.  I average slightly less than 20 miles to the gallon unless I spend lots of time of the freeway.  Then it might edge up to about 24 miles to the gallon.
